Auburn: Train Town USA
The Central Pacific Railroad was extended
from Sacramento to Auburn in May of 1865.
Between 1909 and 1910 Southern Pacific
double-tracked the area to create an east bound
and a west bound line. A trestle was constructed
that today passes over Interstate Highway 80.
