Gold Country Town of Ophir
Information for visitors to the community
of Ophir in Placer County, Northern California.
Ophir has been designated California State Historical
Landmark #463 because in the mid-1800's it was
the center of the area's quartz and gold mining industry and the
most populated town in Placer County. It later became
a ghost town, and more recently it is most well-known
for its orchards and vineyards.
