Miss California / Miss California Teen
Qualifier for the Miss America Pageant. The first Miss California
pageant took place
in 1924, In the early years the pageant was based in
the Northern California beach city of Santa Cruz
but in 1985 it was moved to the Southern California
city of San Diego.
Contestants for Miss California must between age 17 and 24.
and contestants for Miss California Teen must be
between age 13 and 17. All contestants must be unmarried.
Miss California USA / Miss California Teen USA
Qualifier for the Miss USA Pageant and the Miss Teen USA
Pageant. Contestants are judged in three areas of
competition: interview, swimsuit, and evening gown.
Contestants must be unmarried, Miss California USA contestants
must be between age 18 and 26, and Miss California Teen USA
contestants much be between age 14 and 18. The first Miss
California USA was crowned in 1952 and the first Miss California
Teen USA was crowned in 1983.

California beauty pageant for plus size contestants. Competition
categories include personal introduction (20%),
party wear (25%), photogenic (20%) and community service
(25%). This pageant is a qualifier for the Miss Plus America
title.
