Kern River of California
Sections of the north fork and south fork of the
Kern River received United States National
Wild and Scenic River designation on November 24, 1987.
123.1 miles of the river were designated "wild",
7 miles were designated "scenic" and 29.9 miles
were designated "recreational".
The Kern River is managed by the Sequoia-Kings Canyon National
Parks Office of the U.S. National Parks Service and
the Sequoia National Forest Office of the U.S. Forest Service.
