Alexander Valley Wine Growing Region
Information about the Alexander Valley wine growing region
and the American viticulture area (AVA) of Alexander Valley.
The Alexander Valley AVA was first created
in 1984 and it has been amended several times
since then. It is approximately 32,500 acres
in size and about 15,000 of those acres are
planted with vineyards. It is situated along the
Russian River and it includes an area roughly
between Healdsburg and Cloverdale.
