Little Saigon
The mile-long area of Bolsa Avenue from
Magnolia to Brookhurst is a Vietnamese cultural
hub that was official designated "Little Saigon"
by then California Governor George Deukmejian
on June 17, 1988. In September of 1989 the
Westminster City Council designated its Little Saigon
as a tourist zone and special redevelopment project.
ABOUT WESTMINSTER'S VIETNAMESE POPULATION:
After the Vietnam War ended
on April 30, 1975 a large number of Vietnamese
refugees fled their homeland to live in the
United States, and many of them settled in
Westminster.
Westminster Vietnam War Memorial
Memorial by sculptor Tuan Nguyen that was dedicated on April 27, 2003.

Shopping Centers
Westminster Mall
Two-level, indoor shopping center that first opened 1974 and was renovated in 2008.
The center was built on the former site of one of a large goldfish farm.
The Westminster mall is about 1.2 million square feet in size and
it has four anchor tenants and more than 100 shops and restaurants.
