State Parks in San Benito County
Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area
Off highway recreation area established in 1975
for motorcycles and 4-wheel drive vehicles.
The park's 800 acre upper ranch area
has more than 20 trails and a fenced motocross track.
Note that sometimes the upper area is closed for special events
The park's 3,300 area lower ranch is for motorcycles
and ATVs only and it has about 128 miles of trails and several hill climbs.
The Hollister Hills SVR area is located about six
miles south of Hollister.
San Juan Bautista State Historic Park
6 acre historic park established in 1933 that is
situated adjacent to Mission San Juan Bautista.
Features a plaza that was once the town square of
the largest town in Central California.
Includes several structures built in the 1800's
inlcuding the Plaza Hotel,
Zanetta House (Plaza Hall), the Plaza Stables, and
Castro-Breen Adobe, a blacksmnith shop, historic jail,
and an early Aemrican settler's cabin.

Living History Days
are held on the first Saturday of every month.
The San Juan Bautista SHP is located in the city of San Juan Bautista
on Second
Street between Washington Street and Mariposa Street.
