Information about rules and policies in effect for all of
the campgrounds on Catalina Island.
Reservations
Campsite reservations are required and they
can be made online at Reserve America or
on the telephone by calling 877-778-1487.
A reservation service fee of will be charged.
That fee is $9.25 at the time of this writing.
Note that this fee separate from, and in addition to,
the per-night campground fee.
Group Reservations
Reservations for groups
of 20 people or more should be made by sending email
to [email protected] or by phoning 310-510-2000,
extension 4242.
Camping Permits
Camping permits are are required all year on Catalina Island.
Prior to beginning their camping experience,
campers are required to check in, pay campsite fees,
and pick up a camping permit at one of three locations
on Catalina Island:
- Island Tour Plaza (Downtown Avalon)
- Hermit Gulch Campground (Avalon Canyon in Avalon)
- Two Harbors Visitor Services (Two Harbors Village)
Rates
Campground fees are charged per-person, per-night, and they vary
depending on season and the days of the week.
Stay Requirements
Campgrounds have a two-night minimum stay on weekends
and a three-night minimum stay on holidays.
There is also a maximum stay of 10 consecutive days.
- No hiking is allowed from sundown to sunrise
- No under-age drinking (strictly enforced)
- No unsupervised minors (must be accopanied by guardian)
- None of the campsites have electrical hook-ups
- Fires and smoking only allowed in firepit and bbQ areas
- gathering wood is prohibited
- No firearms, archery equipment, or hunting traps allowed
- Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
- No pets alloweed
