State Parks in Tulare County

There is only one state park within the county of Tulare, a historic park dedicated to preserving, protecting, and sharing the history of a Tulare County town founded in 1908 for African Americans.

Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park
3,715 acre historic park designated in 1973. The park was established TO Interpret the town of Allensworth, founded in 1908 as a haven for African Americans by Colonel Allen Allensworth and other community leaders. The town is a district on the United States Naitonal Register of Historic Places.
