Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve
Wilderness area featuring one of the most rare pine trees in the United States, Pinus torreyana, commonly known as the Torrey Pine. The preserve also protects a salt marsh and waterfowl refuge, coastal cliffs, and deep ravines. Facilities include hiking trails and a visitor's center in a structure built as a restaurant in 1923. On weekends and holidays docent led hikes are available, usually between 10:00 a.m;. and 2:00 p.m. See also
