Coachella Valley Date Shake Recipe

This recipe will forever remind me of the time I heard Batman TV star Adam West ordering a date shake in his distinctive deep voice at a roadside stand in the Coachella Valley. We first recognized him by his voice!

Date Shake Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of seeded, chopped dates
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 3 scoups of vanilla ice cream

Date Shake Instructions
Mis the chopped dates and the milk in a blender until smooth. Add ice cream and blend until thoroughly mixed.

Date Shake Variations and Substitutions
(1) Substitute frozen yogurt for the ice cream
(2) Add about 1/4 cup of chocolate syrup
(3) Add about 1/2 cup of mashed bananas or other fresh fruit
