Palm Springs International Airport (PSP)
Two-runway metropolitan airport on about 940 acres of
land located about two miles east of the
center of Palm Springs. More flights operate in
and out of Palm Springs during the winter
months then during the very hot summer months.
The Palm Springs Airport was built in 1939 as
a United States Army air field. The city of
Palm Springs purchased the airport in 1961 and
they began operating it in 1964 as the Palm
Springs Municipal Airport.
