Adams Point District of Oakland
The Adams Point District of Oakland is situated in a hilly area on the north
side of Lake Merritt. It was named after a point of land extending into Lake Merritt
that was itself named after one of Oakland's earliest settlers,
Edson Adams.
The district is adjacent to Oakland's Lakes District and Downtown District and
it is connected to downtown Oakland by Grand Avenue. The Adams Point District
is generally considered to be bounded by Grand Avenue, Harris Street, and the
MacArthur Freeway. The neighborhood residences are a mix of modern apartments
and historic single family homes.
