Emerald Pool
Shallow lake less then one acre in size.
Located about 80 meters above the
Vernall Waterfall. The lakes deep green color
is the result of algae living on the rocks lining
the bottom of the pool.
May Lake
High Sierras lake with views of Mount Hoffmann
that can be accessed by hiking about 1.2 miles
from a parking area off Tioga Pass Road. There
is a backpacker camp called the May Lake High Sierra Camp
with eight tent cabins that can accommodate
a total of up to 36 guests.

Mirror Lake
Lake located on Tenaya Creek, in the Tenaya Canyon,
between North Dome and Half Dome.

Ostrander Lake
Located about 10 miles south of the Yosemite Valley
and about 10 miles east of the Badger Pass Ski Area,
at an elevation of about 8,500 feet above sea level.
Popular spot for cross country skiing during the winter
and for hiking during the summer. The hike to the
about 12 strenuous round trip miles. A two story stone
structure known as the Ostrander Ski Hut was built in 1941.
It offers ski-in overnight accommodations with limited
cooking facilities.

Tenaya Lake
Located between the Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows
at an elevation of about 8,150 feet above sea level.
The lake can be accessed by driving on California State Highway 120
(aka Tioga Pass Road). Activities at the lake include
fishing, hikiing, kayaking, sailing, and cold water swimming.
Note there are no boat launching facilities and motorized
boats are not allowed.
