Los Alamitos Museum
Museum established by Los Alamitos Museum Association to
collect, advance, preserve, and exhibit items related to
culture and history of Los Alamitos. It is
is housed within the former Los Alamitos Volunteer Fire Station, at
at 11062 Los Alamitos Boulevard, just south of the intersection
of that street and Katella Avenue.
The museum was dedicated on October 25, 1975 and first opened to the
public on April 26, 1976. it is open to the public several afternoons a week.
St. Isadore Historical Plaza
Catholic chapel built in 1926, making it one of the oldest buildings
in the city of Los Alamitos. That original structure sustained significant
damage during an earthquake on May 10 1933 and it was rebuilt in a
Spanish Revival style. That building served as a church until it was
closed in September of 1999. The chapel was later purchased by a foundation,
restored, and turned into a community center for celebrations,
events, services, and education.
