McDermont Field House
Sports facility situated inside a former orange packing house
of the McDermott Fruit Company Growers and Shippers.
The 172,000 square foot facility opened for limited activities
in 2007 and had its grand opening celebration on June 21, 2008.
Plans included 2 NCAA size basketball courts, a 10,000 square
foot laser tag arena in the basement, a 9,000 square foot arcade, an
indoor FlowRider facility, an indoor skate park, a 50 foot climbing
wall, a regulation size soccer field, a LightSpace dance floor,
and several restaurants and concession stands.
The McDermont Field House is located at 365 North Sweetbriar Avenue
in Lindsay, California.
Butterfield Overland Mail Route (Historic Marker)
California State Historical landmark Number 471
commemorates a Butterfield Overland Mail stagecoach route
that was part of the company's Stockton-Los Angeles line.
The route follows an earlier immigrant trail.
Ths historic marker is located on the southwest corner of Hermosa Street
and State Highway 85 in the city of Lindsay.
World's Largest Black Olive
This large large black olive sculpture located in the
parking lot of Lindsay's Super 8 Motel may or may not
be the largest black olive in the world but it is
often described that way. The concrete sculpture
sits on a pedestal just south of the motel's swimming pool.
The olive was originally located at the entrance to the
Olive Growers Co-Op and later it was moved to its current site.
The Olive Tree Inn is located near the intersection of Highway 137
and Highway 65 in Lindsay.
Lindsay Municipal Golf Course
Nine hole golf course designed by architect Bob B Baldock
and built in 1963. Located within Lindsay City Park at
801 North Elmwood Avenue.
