About the Ione City Centenary Church
Church was founded in 1861 and construction began on the church building on the 4th of July in 1862. When the church was dedicated in 1866 it was known as the Ione City Centenary Church, and later it was known as the Cathedral of the Mother Lode. Today the building is occupied by the Methodist Community Church of Ione. It has been officially designated United States National Historic Place #77000287 and California State Historical Landmark #506. Located at 150 West Mariette Street in Ione.
