Korean Business District of Garden Grove
Information about the Korean Business District of
Garden Grove California, a Korean-American enclave
also known as "Little Seoul" and the Korean District
of Orange County.
The Korean Business District of Garden Grove includes a section of Garden Grove Boulevard about 2.3 miles long, between Beach Boulevard and Brookhurst Street, and several business on the intersecting streets. Little Seoul reportedly has the highest concentration of Korean American-owned businesses in Orange County. Korean business began opening in this neighborhood in the late 19780's and early 1980's. The city Council of Garden Grove officially designated a section of Garden Grove Boulevard as "The Korean Business District" in 2001 or 2002 and around that time signs were placed on the east and west ends of the district. Visitors can recognize they are in Orange County's Little Seoul when they start seeing blue tile roofs and Hanghul language signs on the local businesses.
