Bidwell Park
Municipal park established in 1905 when
Annie Bidwell, the widow of John Bidwell,
the founder of Chico, donated 2,500 acres of
land to the city of Chico.
Additional land purchased since that time has
increased the park size to about 3,670 acres in size
and about 11 miles in length,
making it one of the largest city parks in the
United States.
