- In 1967 Catherine Pettit bought the hotel
- She gave the hotel its last name: "Catherine Hotel" (45 years name)
- Hotel bought by the Catalina Conservancy in 2012
- They demolished it and built a large visitors center with a restaurant abd bar
- That center was expected to open in the frist half of 2019.
