DESCRIPTION:
Visit with pilots from all over southern California and view
historical planes on display. Fly in or catch the Wildlands
Express, call 310-510-0143 for reservations on the shuttle,
up to the airport from Avalon’s Transportation Plaza.

DESCRIPTION:
One of the country’s most challenging and scenic
50-milers. No cars, no smog, just great terrain,
incredible views, fascinating historical sites,
a well-organized race, nice people, great food
and even an occasional buffalo sighting. ALL proceeds
from entry fees and sponsored mileage go to charity
from this fundraiser for the Avalon Lion’s Club.
Recipients include: Avalon Hospital,
Avalon High School scholarships, Catalina
Island Conservancy and the Bill Putnam Health Care Fund.
Families in Nature Monthly Event
One Saturday a month the Catalina Island Conservancy offers opportunities
for Avalon residents to experience Catalina’s wildlands through its
Families in Nature program. Some of the places visited include Haypress,
Middle Ranch, Bosky Dell and Little Harbor. Planned activities
include art projects, kite-flying, bird watching and nature hikes.
The program includes transportation and is offered without cost.
This is a very popular program and reservations must be made in advance
through the Conservancy’s Education Department at 310-510-0954.
Upcoming dates are: January 18, February 22, March 15 and April 12.
Windward Beach Cleanup | Catalina Island Conservancy
2nd Saturday of most month at 9:00 a.m.
DESCRIPTION:
Join with other enthusiastic volunteers to clean one of the
Windward beaches on the second Saturday of every month.
You will get a free trip to Ben Weston, Cottonwood Beach,
Little Harbor or Shark Harbor for a morning of sun and sand.
The van leaves at from Conservancy House at 125 Clarissa Avenue.
