FOUNDED: 1970 (first held in 1971?)
DESCRIPTION: Catch and release fishing tournament
FIELD: Santa Rosa Island to the Mexican Border

HISTORY: Only broadbill swordfish were targeted in the seventies. The largest one weighed 443 pounds and it was caught by Ted Ted Naftzger in 1975. Marlin were added to the tournament in 1980 and that year the event was given its current name.
