Avalon Beaches
Descanso Beach
Located on the far side of the Catalina Casino, Descanso Beach is a
picturesque two tiered, private beach with great swimming and lots of
activities. Part of the Descanso Beach Club, the beach is a great place
to snorkel, kayak or swim in the crystal clear water. There is a $2 per day
fee to access the beach. Restrooms, outdoor showers, dressing rooms,
chair/umbrella rentals and cabana rentals are available.
The Descanso Beach Club features a beautiful open air restaurant with
a great selection of sandwiches, salads, specialty cocktails,
wine and beer. Pick up the Descanso Beach shuttle near the Casino
Way arch. The Descanso Beach Club is also the starting point for
the Zip Line Eco Tour.
South Beach
South Beach sits just to the right of the Green Pleasure Pier, within
walking distance to food, shopping, restrooms, and lots of activity.
With plenty of sand, a gentle sloping ocean floor and lifeguards during
the summer, your day at South Beach has all the makings for a perfect vacation day.
Middle Beach
Middle Beach sits on the left side of the Green Pleasure Pier.
Just like South Beach, Middle Beach is scenic and relaxing, as
well as being within walking distance to food, restrooms and shopping.
During the summer, lifeguards are on duty.
Step Beach
Step Beach is a bit north of the Green Pleasure Pier. Smaller than Middle
and South Beaches, Step Beach has a small strip of sand that flows directly
into deeper ocean waters. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months.
