Cesar Chavez National Monument
This United States national monument honoring farm worker's
rights advocate Cesar Chavez was established on
October 8, 2012 under the authority of the
United States Antiquities Act. It is located in
Kern County, about 27 miles southeast of Bakersfield
The property is also known as
"Nuestra Senora Reina de la Paz" and it
was the home of Cesar Chavez from the 1970's
until his death in 1993. The site includes
the grave of Cesar Chavez and the headquarters of
the United Farm Workers.
