Calaveras Big Trees State Park
California state park in the middle elevations of
the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range that was established in 1931 to
preserve two important groves of giant sequoia trees. The giant sequoias
in this region first became a popular tourist attraction
in 1852. The two groves in the park are known as the Nort Grove
and the South Grove.
